We are back in London! Classes start at our new venue, St Luke’s Community Centre near Old Street on Wednesday 12 April. We will hold classes at all levels.

New 6-week beginners course also starting on Wednesday 12 April. Tell your friends!

Tango Y Nada Mas, London

We have finally settled on a new home for a 3 month trial period!

FIRST NIGHT – WEDNESDAY 12 APRIL

The Studio at St Luke’s Community Centre, Old Street has an amazing floor and mirrors in the room. We can hold all three classes in an evening BUT we cannot stay for a practica 🙁 We can have refreshments 😉

Old street is much closer than you think to our old venues in Bethnal Green and Shoreditch. It is accessible by various bus routes, tube and train options.

It’s been a tough decision as we have another venue we like and which would allow us time for a practica but they only had availability on Tuesdays. As the majority of you said Wednesdays were the only day you could do, we have taken the decision to trial St Luke’s.

Please tell any non-tango friends (if you have any left :-)) that you would like to bring into the fold as we will finally have our beginners/fundamentals lessons back. We will be introducing loyalty cards/boxes again too 🙂

We can’t wait to see you all again, we have missed the classes sooooo much!

Abrazos

Elizabeth & Luis

Tango Cafe

Katerina and Alan have continued with their wonderful Saturday afternoon Milongas at Tango Cafe and we were delighted to join them on 4 June and 2 July. We will be returning in September 🙂

Learning Tango Summer Festival

We had a great time at the Learning Tango Summer Festival on 18/19 June, meeting lots of new people, teaching and performing over the weekend.

Miskin Milonga

The monthly Miskin Milonga has proven to be a wonderful monthly event with dancers coming from locally, wide and far. We have really appreciated all the support from local Tango groups in Wales in this new venture and we hope that we will be able to continue and grow!

We have a busy September coming up……

Spring was in the air and we have been busy around the country doing what we love most, teaching and performing Tango. In April and May, as well as our regular London classes on Wednesdays and our residency at Tango Warwick on Fridays, we have also been delighted to join Katerina and Alan at Tango Cafe.

Tango Cafe is a brilliant space in Clapham on Saturday afternoons. We’ve joined them three times already and will be with them again on Saturday 4th June and Saturday 18 June. We teach a one hour lesson from 3-4 followed by a Milonga until 8pm. You will find a welcoming group of dancers and great music from Katerina!

England International Tango Festival

On the last Bank holiday weekend in April we joined the team of Tango Bootcamp down in Brighton for the weekend for the England International Tango Festival. It was a superb weekend of workshops, Milongas, performances and more. Videos to follow soon!

Miskin Milonga – Cardiff

We now visit Cardiff, Miskin Manor Hotel, once a month for a class followed by an afternoon Milonga. 23rd April was our first event, followed by a Spring Ball on 8 May, where we were spoiled by dancing in one of the most beautiful rooms of the hotel. We visited again on 28 May for another afternoon Milonga and couldn’t be happier with the support received and the wonderful welcome from local groups and dancers.

Our next Miskin Milongas are on Saturday 25 June, Saturday 23 July and Saturday 27 August. Classes start at 3-4pm followed by a Milonga until 7pm

Tango Ambassadors Cup

On 15 May, I was delighted to join the panel of judges for the annual Tango Ambassadors Cup held at the Argentine Residence. The competition was followed by a Milonga with dancers visiting from afar.

Norfolk Tango

It was a pleasure to visit Norfolk Tango on Sunday 22 May to teach two workshops during the afternoon followed by a tea dance. The weather was wonderful and it was fantastic to see such a great turn out!

As well as our regular classes in London on Wednesdays and on Fridays in Leamington Spa, we are delighted to have more exciting news this month.

On 2nd April we will be back teaching at The Tango Cafe with Katerina and Alan. The class starts at 3pm and we will be dancing to the music of Canaro. We will be regular visitors at Tango Cafe from now on 🙂

Miskin Milonga – On 23rd April we are starting a new partnership with Miskin Manor Hotel just outside of Cardiff. We will be working together to put on a monthly milonga in this beautiful setting with a class beforehand. The class will start at 3pm for one hour and the Milonga will continue until 7pm. If you are interested to find out more connect to the Tango in Wales Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/557460814771914

Miskin Manor Hotel, CF72 8ND

and on Sunday 8 May we will be working with Miskin on a special Spring Ball so put the date in your diary for the opportunity to dance in this beautiful Manor hotel and maybe spend the night.

Lastly but very excitingly we are proud to be part of the England International Tango Festival this year running in Brighton from 29th April, over the Bank Holiday weekend. We will be teaching five workshops over Saturday and Sunday and performing in the Grand Milonga on Saturday night. Brighton is a superb place to spend a Bank Holiday weekend and we would love to see you there!

March is warming up to be an exciting and very busy month at Tango y Nada Mas!

On 12th March we have been invited to join Warwick University’s Argentine Tango Society for their End of term Milonga. We will teach a one hour pre-milonga lesson before the Milonga, which continues until 2am! We will also perform during the evening.

It’s a great opportunity to meet new people and mingle and is open to the general public. All proceeds will go to charity and we hope you may be able to make it if you are in the area.

More details can be found on our facebook page.

On 19th March, we return to Suffolk Tango for an afternoon of workshops in Henley, Ipswich

On 26th March we return to Tango Northampton in Market Harborough, for an afternoon of milonga workshops. We will do two workshops, one concentrating on Milonga lisa vs traspie and in the second we will look at traspie lateral. This is followed by an evening milonga until midnight. More information can be found on Tango Northampton’s page as well as our own.

We will continue with our weekly Wednesday London classes at the Pill Box Kitchen and our weekly Friday classes as resident teacher with Tango Warwick. We hope to see you in one of these places. If not, we have exciting news for April too!

Not forgetting a quick review of February which was a wonderful month for us, we:

  • re-started our Wednesday London Tango classes at The Pill Box Kitchen, following our return from Argentina
  • continued our resident Friday classes with Tango Warwick
  • Joined Tango Bootcamp in Brighton for the first time, teaching workshops as part of their special Valentines weekend
  • re-visited Tango Norfolk to begin our residency there as part of the team and we felt very welcomed (we return to Norfolk Tango on May 22 2022)
  • We joined Katerina and Alan at their new Milonga in South London – The Tango Cafe, where we taught a pre-milonga lesson and are very much looking forward to returning to this gem.
